These are concept drawings for an ongoing (if somewhat on hiatus) Comic Book project about a fictional WW1 style conflict between a turn-of-the century French Empire and British Imperial Commonwealth, as seen through the eyes of the main character, a Joan of Arc expy. Slightly steampunk.

Jeanne Deschamps, the main character, a steampunk Jeanne D'Arc expy.
She was born in Saint-Malo, in Britanny, in 1881, and at the time of the first episode she's a section chief in the 13th Infantry Regiment of the French Empire with a rank of "adjudant"
Of course, any respectable Jeanne D'Arc expy his bound to have guiding visions and in this case these manifest themselves as the historical Jeanne D'Arc and the diminutive Techincal Fairy.
Corporal Jean-Pierre Simon, "The Bear", originally a lumberjack who acts as the section's chief machine gunner and Brigadier General Jean-Baptiste Eugene Lecomte, former commander of the 13th Infantry Regiment of the French Empire.
Corporal Antoine Louis Gérard, an ambitious law student volunteered in the army and private first class Lothaire Marval, only child of a couple of notorious circus dwarf acrobats - he now drives a tank.
Private first Class Paulu Luciani, from Corsica, ran from home at 14 and private Jean Laguille, a farmer's son and seasoned poacher. Given the ironic nickname of "Pouchon", or "Cute guy".
A look at the other side, the British army. Best friends, both captains. One of them has a prior connection to Jeanne.
